Job Description:
Editors in Resonance enhance the language and content of scientific papers that report cutting-edge research in the physical sciences.
These papers are meant for publication in top international journals (e.g., Science, Nature, Physical Review, and IEEE Transactions).
Desired Profile:
A select few possess the distinctive combination of two independent characteristics: excellent written English skills and a strong background in engineering or one of the physical sciences (physics, chemistry, earth sciences, etc.).
Where are they?
You will find some of them working as editors in the physical sciences team Resonance at Cactus Communications Pvt. Ltd. Not many have prior experience in editing; in fact, quite a few have switched careers to join us. Their skills and our in-house training programs have molded them into highly competent editors.
What are their backgrounds?
An engineer who has worked in the IT industry, a geologist who has spent time on offshore oil rigs, a fresh graduate from a leading engineering college in Bombay, and a physicist who has done years of research?these are just a few of the people who belong to this diverse team.

Company Profile:
In early 2001, a professor at the University of Tokyo requested an Indian acquaintance to edit a technical research paper. The acquaintance was Abhishek Goel, who was then working as an in-house AIESEC consultant in Tokyo and who would later be a co-founder of Cactus.
Abhishek agreed, but hesitatingly because he didn’t have a technical background. To his surprise, the professor was very impressed with his editing. Soon, Abhishek was editing papers for that professor in his spare time. He realized that researchers in Japan often have difficulty publishing papers in spite of their world-class research activities. Being non-native speakers of English, they find it hard to meet the high language standards of international journals.
